Tasmania is known for its breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife. But did you know Tasmania also has a thriving small business community, speckled with independent retailers who have delicious wares for customers? I recently had the pleasure of photographing winter 2023 for The Spotted Quoll: a stockist and manufacturer of sustainable, ethical wares.

Working with small businesses always gives me a huge buzz, I am a bit of a fanatical supporter of local, independent businesses, I love to hear their origin stories, who they are and where they’re going. It’s important for me to connect with my client and understand what makes them tick.
The Spotted Quoll’s commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable product and manufacturing really connects with the natural landscape. The heart of this winter shoot lies in the enchanting Tasmanian winter motif. Pine needles litter the ground for a sumptuous, textural addition; while the lichen covered trees offer strong visual lines. Soft dappled light filters through the canopy and creates a picturesque background perfect for highlighting the product.
