The Tasmanian West Coast - A Spanish Foray
I always feel really proud of my 500 day Duolingo streak and A1 Spanish proficiency, until I hang with the crew. Spanish speakers sure know how to talk… fast…but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I most definitely wouldn’t camp on the Tasmanian West Coast in May for anybody else!
As the ‘local’ tour guide on this particular adventure I took the crew from Launceston to Stanley and then on down through Arthur River to Strahan. It’s no secret that Stanley (a.k.a the Nut) is one of my favourite Tassie destinations but special mention also goes to Barry at Arthur River Canoe and Boat Hire for ringing true to local folk lore and being an absolute legend.
Camping in May is not for the faint of heart, but the crisp air rolling across the west coast sure made for some amazing views. Doubling up on socks is a must, and keep your raincoat handy to avoid the sads because of drizzle.
